Last night on TBN, evangelist and prophecy scholar Perry Stone, Jr. hosted an outstanding program devoted entirely to Bible prophecy. Three other prophecy experts were guests: evangelist Donald Perkins, Bill Cloud, and Grant Jeffrey. Each was interviewed separately and at the end there was a roundtable discussion.

As you probably know, Perry Stone, Jr., is a walking encyclopedia on the Bible and Israel. The other men are also very knowledgeable. All three are pre-trib in the views. Stone said that he had been studying Bible prophecy for 27 years and it is his conclusion that the rapture will be before the tribulation.

Much fascinating information was discussed. But the thing that jumped out at me the most was the comment by Stone and Perkins about the recent tsunamis, quoting Luke 21:25: "Down here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides." They said that the tsunamis were not part of the tribulation, which has not started yet, but in context were part of the birth pangs preceding the Second Coming . Stone remarked that if we are seeing the birth pangs prior to the tribulation and the Second Coming, how much closer must the rapture be!

Stone also remarked that birth pangs increase in intensity. That reminded me of a newspaper quote in one of my recent messages: " According to the Russian scientists, the number of earthquakes in the earth has increased exponentially over the past few years , a phenomenon not seen in modern human history."
